Little Rose Floss Ring Tag

The Rose Floss Ring Tag is part of the rose collection that I stitched for myself for Mother's day this year. I am posting the whole collection here. I used Jobelan 28 ct Antique Ivory, covered button set to create the button in the middle of the biscornu and Keslyn's Alissa's Pillow chart. I modified the chart to create the biscornu. Valentine Floss Ring Tag using Clover Heart Yo Yo Maker

I tried something new this week. I did not have a lot of time, so I just picked a very pretty fabric and made 2 heart cardboards and used the same fabric using Clover heart Yo Yo maker small. In less than one hour, here is the finish:

Step by Step on how to make a Floss Ring Tag

This is my version of Floss Ring Tag, as you are making more of these little tags, you will discover your own unique way.

Step 1:

- Stitched Piece

- Backing fabric

- 2 pieces of cardboard

Step 2: Make 2 holes where you will put the eyelets on the carboard:

Step 3. Centering your stitched piece, then trace the cardboard templates to the stitched piece and the backing fabric with a disappearing ink pen:

Step 4: Cut the 2 pieces around the edges like the picture, put glue on and paste the fabric to the cardboards:

Step 5: Put the eyelets on the 2 pieces where the holes are. Place the 2 pieces together matching up the eyelets and do a running stitch to combine the 2 pieces into one.

Step 6: Glue the trim around the piece, attach the thread ring and thread drops:

The cheapest tool to make this is the eyelet tool kits, the sizes are 5/32" and 1/4", the instruction are very clear as far as how to set the eyelets: (I do carry these on my web site)

So you have tried out the eyelet kits and have made a few Floss Ring Tags, now you want to
invest more money on TOOLS, here they are:

An Eyelet tool, you can set 5/32" and 1/4" eyelets, but you can't set any other eyelet sizes.

There is another tool for Scrapbooking that you can use as well, it is called "crop-a-dile". It will set 1/8" and 3/16" eyelets. If you are using this tool to make floss ring tag, you need 3/16" eyelets, the 1/8" eyelets are too small to fit the round ring. Another important information to know is you can't use 5/32" and 1/4" eyelets with this tool. There is another tool for Scrapbooking that you can use as well, it is called "crop-a-dile".
